About KV Leh, Ladakh
Kendriya Vidyalaya Leh started in 1983 in a small building provided by the state government, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Leh.
In 2001, it was shifted to its permanent building which is situated on the beautiful landscape of 166 canals with good infrastructure on Choglamsar road, opposite HIMANK about 4 km from Leh Main Market and KBR LEH Airport.
In 2003 four more branches were opened in remote and far-flung areas of the primary level at Skurbuchan, Khaltsi, Saspol, and Karu villages, but all those branches closed due to low enrollment.
The Vidyalaya has now fully blossomed with a section from Balavatika III to X and three sections in classes XI and XII Science and Commerce and Humanities.
The Vidyalaya has a huge enrolment of not only government employee wards but also local people. It has been providing an uninterrupted education to the wards of central government employees and defense personnel and the floating population of this cold desert area.
It has two well-furnished computer labs, well-equipped science labs, and a resource room.
