NIPUN stands for National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy, is an initiative launched by GOI in order to achieve some basic learning goals through a mission called FLN ( Foundational Literacy and Numeracy). The motto as the name suggests, is to make children capable of doing basic calculations that are helpful in real life. And make them capable to read and understand the basic text.

As the theories and practical knowledge suggest mind of a child develops at a very fast rate in his/her foundational stage of life, so it is an opportunity for a teacher to utilize this period to an extent, and for that various FLN activities are organized at school level to nourish the mind of a child that leads to holistic development as well.
Keeping in mind, the competency that needs to be achieved, students are involved in various activities under FLN.
